About Frank Mackinnon & Carmen Macleod Family of P.E.I.
Please sign in to see more.
Hello from P.E.I. - hope you're one of our cousins? Write me a note [camackinnon@gmail.com] if you want to add to our family tree, or just say "Hello".

Pictures are always welcome as well as corrections- any mistakes you find are mine. I have more generations to add and when completed the Island family trees will be found on www.islandregister.com which is a free website that welcomes everyone.
By accessing the site and using the files, you agree not to use the information for any commercial purposes, including pay-to-view ancestry forums.

You should be able to print your family tree by clicking on the[Printable] button. MacKinnon is the usual spelling of our family's name, but all the records I have found from Grampie John Donald Mckinnon's generation[and preceding generations]have used the Mckinnon spelling. Therefore I have used "Mc" for our family & "Mackinnon" for people who aren't relations. MacLeod families have always used "Mac".

I have tried to include neighbours from Victoria West, Springhill & Mount Pleasant as well as family members; mainly to figure family connections.
Just wish I started this a few decades earlier- have fun with it & as my Dad, Frankie Mckinnon would say "Behave yourself".

Carol Mckinnon

Family Sources:

1]- I wish to thank the Great Fount of Lot 13 - Carmen Macleod Mckinnon. Mum knew most of the genealogy of Prince County & we wish we had her memory. Mum passed away on 2020-Jan-18th.

2]- Alice Moreshead Enman Grant wrote a brief history of the Enmans of Springhill & Victoria West, with additions from Murdock Enman. I have relied on Alice's information for the Enman history, plus what I could remember of Great-uncle Dave Enman's stories.[Some not fit to print.]

3]- Thanks to all the Victoria West cousins, particularly Annie Macleod Craig, Helen Macleod Murray, Priscilla Macleod Myers, Verna Ellands Macleod, & Jennie Macwilliams Macleod and their families for the fantastic James Macleod/Harriet Macdougall family reunion in 1987. The Macleod/Macdougall history was collected at that gathering of the clans.

4]- We must remember Aunt Gladys Mckinnon Dyment and Reby Mckinnon Milligan for their stories of growing up in West Prince. Richard Mckinnon's Westisle history paper for Mckinnon family history made a good start to this website.

5]- Brothers John Samuel Evans & Horace Douglas Evans left us with their books of reminiscences and Carol Ruth Evans keeps us in touch with the Welsh Evans family.

6]- Derwyn Grant Evans continues to add to N.B. Grant Connections.

7]- Thanks Donna Phillips for the history of Neil Macarthur.

Thank you to all, Carol
