Samuel and Mary Jones brought a slave boy Adam to North Carolina with them a son of Nan a slave girl that was given to Mary Jones by her father Richard Jones about 5 years after she married Samuel.
Adam sued Samuel Scott in Court as he was asking for his freedom in 1789. Much of the information we have was in these court records. There were no records found that Adam was freed. Mary Jones Scott had a slave on the 1790 Census Wilkes Co North Carolina

Thomas Scott born 1755 and Letitia Russell Scott had a son Samuel Scott born 1777 Burke County, North Carolina was in the Rev War and died in 1739 in Cumberland County, Kentucky.
Samuel Scott born 1777 married Lydia Long and settled in Morgan County, Tennessee were Samuel had thousands of acres of land. He had Scott's Tavern and built a large house on the Emory River. I believe old Samuel had a few too many drinks and fell off his horse and drowned in the Emory River. His Son John Long Scott born 1801 Cumberland County Kentucky removed to Saline Co Missouri by 1830 with his uncle Richard Scott, son of Thomas Scott. John Long Scott married Margaret Beaty who died in 1845, daughter of William Beaty and Sarah Crockett. John and Margaret's son Simeon Scott born in 1828 married Frances Ann Kester in Saline Co Missouri and settled in Bosque Co Texas by 1870. parents of Sidney Ray Scott born 1879 married Maggie Adkison and had John Charles Scott born 1903 Bosque Co Texas. Married Lorene Stansberry.

Lorene Stansberry was the daughter of William Hardin Stansberry and Nettie Garrett and William's parents were Benjamin Stansberry and Carolina Baker. Benjamin's parents were Thomas Stansberry and Sarah Cass of McMinn County Tennessee. Thomas's parents were Ezekiel Stansberry and Esther Neil Kramer of Frederick County, Virginia where they married and settled in Greene Co Tennessee in 1797 and Ezekiel died at a young age. Much research has been done on Ezekiel Stansberry in the past years but his parents are still unproven.

Nettie Garrett was the daughter of William R Garrett and Harriett Isabell Swain. William was the son of Wilson Garrett and Elizabeth Martin and settled in Hill County, Texas around 1880. William's grandparents were Moses Garrett and Polly Stone of Madison County, Kentucky and Bedford County, Tennessee. Moses Garrett died in 1818 in Bedford County, Tennessee.
