About Geoff's Davis/es Family Tree
About Geoff's Davis/es Family Tree
 I have been researching my Family history for many years

My Grandparents were unknown to me as was a Sister Constance who died before I was born.
 My mother was adopted by Fred and Ada Twiss. it was established that her Mothers name was Susan Thompson. Father supposed Job Horton

Another difficulty was encountered by the name Davies DAVIS and PAINS in both birth and census records
 There is in fact a family link of Pain. For some reason Noah and his Father and others used Davis and Pain some children being christened as this, others are assisting in establishing this. Geoffrey Woodall has an extensive listing From Warrington to Rotherham. Where both family branches are
 found.

My wife Valerie's grandmother was Emma Edith Compton, see the very interesting link on the Compton's
 in Salt Lake city Utah below

 Old Rugged Cross

1. On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
 The emblem suff'ring and shame;
 And I love that old cross where the dearest and best
 For world of lost sinners was slain.

Chorus:
 So I'll cherish the old rugged cross,
 Till my trophies at last I lay down;
 I will cling to the old rugged cross
 And exchange it some day for a crown.

2. O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,
 Has a wondrous attraction for me;
 For the dear Lamb of God left His glory above
 To bear it to dark Calvary.

(Chorus)

3. In the old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,
 A wondrous beauty I see;
 For 'twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died
 To pardon and sanctify me.

(Chorus)

4. To the old rugged cross I will ever be true,
 Its shame and reproach gladly bear;
 Then He'll call me some day to my home far away,
 Where His glory forever I'll share.
