About The Grandchildrens legacy
This is the latest attempt at creating a family tree website that will be accessible in the future for my granddaughter Georgia Peake and her younger brother Ryan to see the family that they know nothing about yet. The tree came in handy when the grandchildren had to produce a family tree going back to their great grandparents for a school project in 2017.
My first attempt back in 2007 was at the request of my wife to try and trace her family back as far as I could. I started the research in September 2006 and have had many hours of fun tracing her family as well as my own. Through this research I have managed to trace numerous cousins I had lost contact with or not seen for the best part of 40 years. One in Australia has been in touch via e-mail for the last 2 years and others I have met up with at cousin Ken's funeral in June 2009. Sadly there are still several cousins out there that I have never met and others that I rarely see, if ever.
It is amazing how many people are engaged in family research and I have 2000 contacts all round the world, but mainly in the UK and Australia, who are actively researching similar names to ones I relate to either directly or through my wife. I have made many good e-mail friends in Australia and look forward to meeting some of them if I ever get the chance to go out there.
My thanks still go to Maureen Martin and the late Mike Levon for their help with my Duncombe family research and their willingness to part with hard earned information for me to include in my first tree.

Getting Around There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.
In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool. |
