A site displaying 15 years (and counting), of research into my birth family. Primarily Lincolnshire and the adjoining counties of Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire though further afield in the UK and beyond, covering over three centuries of family events using news cuttings, images of documents, photographs and transcribed records.
I'd love to say the years of research are down to my determination to succeed but the truth is the standard of transcriptions on FMP (my primary source of census records), is so overwhelmingly poor that it is the reason my research has taken so long. Stevie Wonder could offer better transcriptions and I feel not only robbed but stupid for paying over priced subscriptions not just once but over a number of years. Yes FMP, you truly are unbelievable in the extreme. I implore everyone to avoid them for the sake of their pocket and their family tree. Seriously, how can an image clearly displaying a birth county of Salop ever be transcribed as Surrey? Don't do it people, DO NOT SUBSCRIBE to FINDMYPAST, it's really not worth your time, effort and certainly not your money. I've been a fool for years, don't do as I do, do as I say, go to any other site but avoid FMP, ignore this advice at your own (expensive) risk.

The Lincoln Timeshift Videos are a growing series of short films on youtube merging old Lincoln scenes with recent images taken from the same viewpoints by John Bennett. Well worth subscribing as John works exceptionally hard to match the viewpoints of his new images for a seamless transition.
