About Grillias/Houston
Welcome to the Grillias Family Page. We are still exploring the main branches of the family including the Grillias', the Chrysikos', the Houston's and the Griffen's. We have lots of information and pictures to sift through but always appreciate material you may have. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or information. Our latest finds indicate the long period of time that the family has been in America. Thanks to extensive research into the Griffen family by others, it looks like Edward Griffin came to America in 1635. See the included links below.

And there is a Mayflower link!

Peter Browne – signer of the Mayflower Compact
Rebeckah (Browne) Snow (ABT 1631 – AFT 1699)
  William Snow (ABT 1662 – BEF 1726)
   Susanna (Snow) Alger (1694 – ABT 1730)
    James Alger (ABT 1728 – 1810)
     Alice (Alger) Dunbar (1755 – 1829)
      Martha (Dunbar) Edson (1777 – 1830)
       Alice Alger (Edson) Barstow (1798 – 1872)
        Martha E. (Barstow) Lane (1824 – 1902)
Ella Star (Lane) Griffen (1855 – 1940) our great grandmother

It turns out that Martha E. (Barstow) Lane is a direct descendant of 4 Mayflower passengers: Peter Browne, Francis Cooke, James Chilton and Richard Warren.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
