About Haire Family Tree
Please sign in to see more.
The information, photographs, stories, and records used to develop this website were obtained through research and life experiences by various family members from several generations. The purpose of this website is to have that information at hand in one location so it can be accessed at any time. I once heard a saying from someone in the process of doing genealogical research: "We all have family members whose limbs we would like to cut off our family tree, while we work so hard to find the limbs that were cut off by our ancestors." For the sake of your descendants, never cut limbs off your family tree; always keep in touch with family.

One of the best examples of maintaining family relations was set by my great-grandfather, George Haire, and his siblings. At the age of 43, George's mother died, leaving seven children behind ranging in age from 2 to 18. The following year, 1899, George's father died, leaving the seven children orphaned. The older children went their separate ways to fend for themselves. They made a pact to get together each year on Memorial Day, which they did for many years. George and his siblings made an effort to stay in touch with each other. Now, more than 100 years later, staying in touch should be easier than ever with our available technology.

This website is dedicated, not to those who have come before us, but those yet to come. Time is precious, and it slips away quietly while we go about our daily lives. There is nothing we can do to get back time that has slipped away. Please do your part, for the sake of your family and your descendants, to know who your relatives are and something about their lives. As your children and grandchildren grow, they will long for family history you are now living and take for granted.

Please feel free to contact me using the link above to let me know you were here and if you have any suggestions for improving this site. I am always interested in new or updated information to keep this site current. I am also very interested in knowing about you and your branch of the family. Together, we can keep the Haire and related families linked.

"A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots."
Marcus Garvey

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
