About Haywood Family Tree
We come from humble beginnings. Our ancestors withstood hardships that we cannot begin to imagine, but they survived and because of their struggles, we are alive today. I created this Family Tree to honor the memory and legacy of our ancestors, and to preserve our history for the future generation of our children, so they can understand, appreciate, and take pride in the caliber of people from which they came.

This is a work in progress and much of the information here, is comprised of census records, birth, marriage, death and verbal records collected over the years by different members of the family. I have visited different courthouses, public libraries, cemeteries and interviewed family members. I have tried to be as accurate as possible with the limited resources.

These web pages contain our very extended Family Tree - showing maternal & paternal - and the various offshoot branches of each. With over 500 individuals in the Tree, it clearly includes branches, leaves & twigs! You only have to think of your own family to realize that for every member with a partner, there is an additional family bloodline. I have not sought to restrict the Tree in these pages because I happen to believe you can never have too much information.

There is more to come (hopefully) with stories and pictures, some of which are already posted. Stories of your journey through life will be a great addition to the website, remember this walk through life will be interesting someday to the young members in our families. Therefore, if you have any stories or photos you would like me to post, please include names and dates when sending any info. I welcome any changes, updates, omissions, corrections, etc. To forward any comments, feedback, information, or to request access, click “Send a Message” found in the “Welcome" message, OR click “Request Invitation” in the Security window.

I hope to keep researching and adding information in the years to come. May the Lord watch over you and your, today, tomorrow, and always. Thank you for visiting and please sign the guest book.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
