About Hazelwoods and more
This site is about our extended family and is meant to show just how diverse a group of people they are for example in occupations (farm labourer, blacksmith, pastrycook, seaman, nurse, teacher, bank manager, music teacher, toothbrush maker ....); and locations (Oxfordshire, Hackney, Wales, Norfolk, Kent, Yorkshire, Scotland, Canada, Australia ....).
Events like emigration, suicide, bigamy, divorce, illegitimacy, manslaughter, imprisonment, bankruptcy and poverty are all there. I have even found a secret marriage.
There are children in the workhouse; individuals who seem to have disappeared; people who have changed their names (ie because of anti-German sentiment prior to WW1) and scandals reported in the newspapers.
I cannot claim to have come across any famous or royal connections in my research just a set of individuals who went about their lives, dealing with issues as they arose and trying to cope with the changes in their society and surroundings as best they could. Although I have added an Honorable (Richard Patrick de Grey) to the extended Warren family! Please sign the guest book and if you have any questions, I will try to answer them. Thank you.
Note that I have recently taken a autosomal dna test, Haplogroup H1. For more details, contact me.
NB I am currently in the process of adding some stories about individuals and will mark their names with an *.
2023 I have just found a connection between the Hazelwoods and Cattermoles - through marriage between Draper and Pammen families. Will complete details in the next couple of days in Stories.
2024 Apparently there is a connection between the Ellitt/Newport families and me (from dna testing ) at the 2nd-3rd cousin level. So, I have added a short explanation in Stories and am entering details of the families on to a tree (see Wolfe M Ellitt as a starting point) but have yet to find any connection.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
