About Burns, and relatives family tree tallygaroopna Aust
Coming to Australia from Ireland in the early 1850s Thomas Burns was pardoned on arrival off the  Neptune 2 after being convicted of stealing sheep during the potato famine to feed the members of  the family he then worked for a couple of years and bought out the family and started at Banockburn  Thomas Burns senior and his son Thomas Burns junior then aged 24 travelled  from Banockburn (near Geelong) to Euroa and then continued on foot to Tallygaroopna and They took up  a selection as original settlers of Tallygaroopna. Victoria.  in 1878. 
 From 320 acres just West of the Township of Tallygaroopna township, they built a  bark hut and ringbarked 5 acres before returning home to Banackburn. The family travelled to Tallygaroopna by horse and Dray, bringing with them a  few cows, chooks and tools. At that time the family consisted of Thomas senior  65, his wife Ellen 55 and children namely Thomas 25, Mary 23, Margaret 19,  John 15, and Michael 14.
 Another daughter Annie did not accompany them at this time. They had great go ahead and with Tom and  Mick bought a further approx 2500 acres.
 In 2010 it was great to reunite with the Family Of John Burns who contact was lost in the 1880s,  through  Brian, leo, and Mary along with Leo's son Peter, this has allowed the family tree to come  together and we had a great get reunion together 22 October 2011 The Rowe Family was were mainly Medical people , Quarymen.
 The McMahon family mainly farmers and Married into the Britt family

The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
