About The Iserman-Ashline Family Tree
Welcome!

Growing up, I was told that I was German, French, Scotch, Dutch, Irish, Native American, and supposedly "Gypsy". Since I started climbing the family tree, I have found everything except the Indian & Gypsy. I haven't given up on the Indian line though, surely it comes through the French-Canadian lines. - As a bonus, however, I found a lot of pre-colonial English!

A recent discovery was that of German blood in the French ASHLINE/ASSELIN line! Apparently a Hessien soldier, (Wm. HILDEBRANT) fighting for the English during the American War for Independence, decided to stay on in Canada after the war; most likely given land as compensation.

~ So you see, history IS always re-writing itself. Even though the ancestors are gone, families continue to be fluid and alive. Something sacred was lost when the family unit declined. It is my wish to see as many people connected as possible - so my site is open to All.

If someone could get all family trees into one database, we would discover that we truly are ALL "cousins", Ohana... family.

Enjoy your journey! ~ And let me know if we're related! :)

~ A Great Big THANK YOU!

Many others have helped my tree to grow, through their considerate sharing - people I have never even "met". Particulary helpful was the work of Marie Bonafonte, done on the ISERMAN/MOREHOUSE/BROUGHTON lines. And a BIDDLEMAN family tree from Kansas, helped plug in many older ISERMAN line ancestors. Others merely shared leads, tips, pointers, or their own family - but all gave freely.

Giving is the gift that keeps on giving... pay it forward!

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
