This Ceylonese Tamil family line begins from Jaffna, Ceylon back in 1828 with the birth of Muruggar, till this day with most of his descendants scattered all over the world. The records contain over 1,500 family members both living and who have passed on.
Research has taken us only as far back as Mr.Muruggar, hence the family name as it is called with his descendants originating from Jaffna Ceylon ( Sri Lanka ) with most of whom are now settled in Malaysia, Singapore, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Australia, US, Canada & Germany. With this website, responsibility of maintaining this family tree is now extended to all family members who feel it necessary to upkeep their own family information to keep it alive for generations to come.
Please be mindful that when entering information of any individual, please provide full dates that includes the day, month and year. Where available please do also provide Email addresses as this will allow for automated updates to be sent to you from time to time.
It should also help connect you with other relatives. For obvious security reasons, access is limited to only connected authorized family members. The common open site, is accessible to all with only information of
those in the family who have departed.
To be able to view more details, you will need to request for permission to be an authorized member providing a brief note of your connection to Muruggar or anyone else in the bloodline.
As an authorized family member, you will have access into the site to view most details and be able update own family details, add, load pictures, input contact information and email addresses. You will also be able to use the print options. There is also a Guest Book section on the site if you would like to add comments and recommendation.
Visitors will only have access to the site on information of departed family members of the tree only. Living members will only appear as 'living' to unauthorised visitors with no names or pictures displayed.
For visitors who wish to research the family tree to identify possible connections, you may also request for limited access (for all names) for a short period.
I hope this website will be as informative as it was intended to be.
Lastly, I am indebted to all those who have contributed to this site and honoured to dedicate it to all those who have gone before us. Without doubt their genes, and their spirit, live on.
