About Kings,Queens,Paupers and Wanderers
On this tree the people range from paupers to Kings and Queens and from all walks of life -a microcosm of society. It is interesting to note that Kings and Queens were not always highly thought of. For example,at the death of George 1V in 1830, The Times reported 'There never was an individual less regretted by his fellow-creatures than this deceased King'.
Some ancestors travelled the world and lived in absolute luxury but others had a hard life and plied their trades in the cloth industry. One died of typhus which was normally spread by body lice and others were mariners. There were a few members of the clergy, a limeburner, a tram driver, social workers, teachers and warriors. One even became a Saint (Saint Margaret of Scotland). I have tried to give accurate information where possible and I will continue to add to the tree as more information comes to light. It is a fascinating journey and I have learnt so much about history along the way. I am also deeply grateful to all those distant and not-so-distant relatives who have helped me as well as many, many kind strangers who have taken the trouble to look things up for me.
“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.” – Romans 15:4 KJV

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
