Welcome...the spirit of the individual is forged in the blending of these our ancestors. This is our story...Our family history has a rich, vibrant and unique legacy in our beautiful country of Canada.
Our Canadian family heritage has its beginnings in many countries such as Germany, Ireland, Scotland, England, France & the U.S.A. Many of our early ancestors who immigrated here were the Canadian Pioneers & farming families of the 1800s. One family line, the Soucy(Marigold) began with a soldier in the Carignan-Salières Regiment of Louis XIV. The regiment was sent to New France(Quebec)in 1665 and after their duty was over the soldiers were to remain to continue the French culture. They were given land and married women sent over from France and settled the countryside.
Our ancestors were strong, resilient, hard working and overcame many obstacles. They came to Canada for a better life and this is legacy to be proud of. The occupations of the past included a joiner, bookkeeper, carter, ship Captains, shoemaker, iron moulders, farmers, cotton salesman, hotel-keepers & dressmakers. Our present generations have included occupations such as pilots, lab tech, railway, teachers, fireman, advertising creators, executive assistants & a Catholic priest. We had family members proudly serving our country in W.W.1 & W.W.2. I have started this tree with Gordon Abbott(Abbie)& Marguerite Gibson & their children. I have followed each one and branched into each family`s past & present.
The internet setting has given us a marvelous way to peek at our past, present & our future generations.
 Enjoy! JoAnne
