Have you ever discovered a family secret that was a bolt from the blue?
Something that surprised you or shocked you - a story from the past that
changed everything you knew about your family?
One day, there was a knock on the door.it was my uncle's grandson John Shackleton
my cousin's son - who I had never met - He was tracing his family history.
I was very intrigued by a photograph of my grandmother Mary with my uncle's
Harry, who was killed in the first world war and John.I had never met my
grandmother, but I decided to find out more about her life, especially when I
found out she had been admitted to an asylum in 1918, suffering from what was
termed 'war worry'

My story was recently told on Stoke Radio .... you can hear it click here

My Father Ernest was working at the Great-Row Colliery 1978 when Radio Stoke did a live
broadcast
from there, you can listen to the interview. click here

The photograph of my grandmother Mary Baddeley ( Tunnicliffe.) that set me on the
road to Discovery....

   They passed this way...

If you could see your ancestor's, all standing in a row,
Do you think you'd be proud of them, or don't you know? Some strange discoveries are made in climbing family tree's, And some of them, do not particularly please.

If you could see your ancestor's,all standing in a row,
There might be some of them,
perhaps,You would not care to know,
But there's another question, which requires a different view, If you could meet your ancestor's, would they be proud of you? MANY THANKS.
I have just received a lot of photo's from North-Staffs, and want to thank Marliene Wilson, I
have put them under the heading ( Baddeley & Branches.) any help with names to Facess would be appreciated. Many thanks to Nikki Doyle whom started the tree on site. Thanks to John Shackleton for
time and effort put into starting the Family Tree. Thank You ALL.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
