About Proctor Eason Hammond Jackson
Please sign in to see more.
Warning! I am not a professional genealogist. Don't bet the farm on my data. Please if you do see a hole or error, email me. I'll fix it. Let's collaborate. If you want to help, I'd appreciate your blood type, any kin folk I've missed, old photos and haplogroup.

Remember this is a tree that is joined by the marriage between Ron Proctor and Judy Hammond. Ron and I know that we both have ancestors that came to America on the ship Assurance in July of 1635. Mine is Richard Kirbie, Ron's is Anthony Proctor. Ron Proctor has kin that arrived even earlier. Incidentally I have not completed my work on the tree. That is where you factor into the equation. I need more information and I am dedicated to finding links and expanding on branches. In particular I'd like to know more about our ancestors before they migrated to America.

Please feel free to contact me. On my side of the family, few people care about this obsession. Ron's family is more understanding and in touch with their inner tree. Both of us believe we are who we are because of those who were here before us. Life is good in the 21st century because of the previous rebels, loyalist, nut bags, holy rollers, and persevering folks that held their ground, and kept asking what can we do better.

A little about the notes. Most trees mainly focus on birth, death and marriages. I want to try to expound and present what defined the person or at least paint a better picture than born- married-reproduced-died. Everyone does that...BORING! It's much more fun to hear about the heros, deserters, drunks, geniuses, and passionate folks that make up our families.

We had FTDNA test four members of our separate families.

Proctor, Eason, Edwards, Owens
 Ron Proctor (Haplogroup R1b1a2)
The PURPLE square next to a name on the tree indicates the person is in Ron's direct ancestrial line.

Jean "Proctor" Pair (MTDNA - Mitochondrial DNA Haplogroup K). Origins: Southern US, Virginia and England
(Paternal aunt to Ron Proctor) The PINK square indicates the person is in Jean's direct ancestrial line.

Hammond, Small, Kirk, Marshall
 Manly Blake Hammond (Haplogroup R1b1a2)
Origins: Southern US, Virginia, South Carolina, Connecticut, and England. (Father of Judy "Hammond" Proctor) The YELLOW square indicates the person is in Manly Blake Hamond's direct ancestrial line.

Calvin, Jackson, Harden, Newton, Meadows, Herriford, Edwards, James, Chapman Vera Lee Clifton (MTDNA - Mitochondrial DNA Haplogroup T2)
Origins: Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado (Mother of Judy Proctor, nee Hammond. The GREEN square indicated the person is in Vera Lee's direct ancestrial line.

The TEAL square indicates the person is in Judy's direct line. Judy was not tested since her mother and father's DNA represent her's and her sister's exactly.

After you click on a person's name and bring up their place in the tree, "REPORTS" will apear in the menu bar. You can produce a decendant or ancestor report. You are welcome to copy any photos or information. Please don't let it end up on Ancestry.com and therefore sold under their self serving privacy policy. It would also be impolite to repost and not give credit to whomever I have listed as the donor.

Genealogist are the sensitive artististic types. When we see our work stolen and on a for profit website, under another persons name it is tough to take. Let's face it, none of us are reinventing the wheel. However, there must be something commercially appealing if it's worth pirating the data.

The bad guys are not just Ancestry.com. Family Tree DNA is another company notorious for data mining and charging for every molecule on both sides of the transaction.

Quick note on our war heroes. Please note, I check battle timelines. On more than one occasion we have had claims made that so and so died in X battle. Great, but, not so fast. I take into consideration the possibility the person could have been wounded, then later died. But if uncle Jethro died one month before Bull Run aka First Manasas, that means he was not there.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
