About The leviner Family
Please sign in to see more.
The Leviner family descends from Jean Lovina, a Native American of the Nansemund tribe and a Norfolk County slave, whose master, Major John Nichols, freed her and her children, John and Sarah, and left them 350 acres of land in Norfolk County, Virginia in 1697. Sarah married William Bass; and they were the ancestors of the Bass family of Norfolk County. John's descendants sold their land to the Bass family in 1728 and bought land in Bertie County, North Carolina in 1745. The Leviners were landowners in Richmond County, North Carolina by 1790.

WHISPERS IN THE WIND

ANCIENT PATHS TROD LONG AGO BY THOSE WHO CAME BEFORE,
BECKON US TO FOLLOW THEM IN SEARCH OF THOSE OF YORE.
SHADOWS DIM FADE IN AND OUT, FAINT VESTIGES OF TIME.
MUFFLED CRIED, SAD TALES OF WOE, AGELESS LOVE SUBLIME.

SEARCHING STILL FOR SIGNS THEY LEFT, DIM AS THEY MAY BE,
HOPE REMAINS, YET WHAT TO DO, OUR EYES STILL CANNOT SEE.
HERE AND THERE A TATTERED SHRED, A HINT OF TRAILS TO FIND.
OH HOW WE LONG TO SEE THE FACE OF THOSE WE LEFT BEHIND.

LIFE GOES ON AS YEARS GO BY, WE STRIVE TO FIND THE WAY.
THEN THE DAWN BEGINS TO BREAK AS NIGHT TURNS INTO DAY.
NOW THE LIGHT MORE BRIGHTLY GLOWS AS WE NEAR THE END.
STILL, FAR AWAY, WE YEARN TO HEAR WHISPERS IN THE WIND.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
