About Liz Sullivan's Tree of Life
Please sign in to see more.
This site is to celebrate our family roots and to share, learn, and explore our ancestors. From generation to generation we need to pass the knowledge on. I invite you to participate & explore. The quest to discover my roots has been a mission and passion for over 20 years now.

Let us all live in the moment, while dutifully respecting our past.
My mission is to locate as many of my living relatives as I can and reconnect. I have been researching my mom's material side of the family, the Laughlin family rooted in Coatbridge Scotland. but now I have them back to Hilltown, County Cork Ireland. The siblings of Francis & Angelina (nee Cunningham/Connachan) Laughlin's sons James, Joseph & Daniel. Also researching the names of McComish, O'Hare and Murphy, from Hilltown, County Down. Many of them immigrated to Coatbridge, Scotland between 1870-1888 before some family members came to Canada in 1912. Also, researching the McGuinness family from Scotland. Elizabeth McComish married John McGuinnes in Coatbridge Scotland in 1899, they had 7 children. We are currently looking for the descendants of Annie, Edward, Mary & John McGuinness. Some of these family members would be located both in Scotland and the US

In England, the research continues concerning my mothers Fraternal side of the family, the Jones family from Nottingham and the Winn family from Northampton who ran the Anchor Inn just outside Pershore, Worcestershire, England. Recent additions on this side of the family have now included the family name of Choules and Skinner with a connection of family members located in Australia. How exciting!

If anyone has further information of the Sullivan side of my family, it would be greatly appreciated. There is a lot of information coming in on the Harman side of the family, (the English kept good records) but the Sullivan side is sadly lacking. My father's Grandparents were James Sullivan & Anne (nee McDonald) Sullivan, they were married in England in 1872 parents were Ian McDonald and a Daniel Sullivan. Any information would be a treasured gift. Recent update, on the Sullivan-Jones "family connections" have developed, with further insight to be updated shortly.

Special thanks to many of my family members, especially to Millie Burns, Frank Laughlin, Jo-Anne Sullivan LaFleur, Richard Dyment & Gerrard McGuinness who have been invaluable in assisting me with information on this tree. Kudo's to Sheilagh Hunt for sharing her research on the Haffey family with me. Special thanks to my distant cousin Renie Scott from England who has shared her research of the Loomes family with me and Ron Hewick who is sharing much of his research into the linage of Kezia Benson my GG Grandmother and Thomas Harman. Recently I am working with Lesley Wright on the Winn/ Skinner tree
