About Madewell/Stephens
This is the line for the children of Julia Mae Stephens from Jamestown, Fentress, TN. I am constantly adding to this tree so it is a work in progress. I dont claim to be a professional genealogist. I admit that a lot of my information is from hearsay or information I've found on the internet. I invite others to send me comments where I have wrong information. I recently added some information on my paternal side but I continue to work on my maternal line mostly because it's more exotic! I can't seem to link the Stephens immigrant to the Stephens in England so I know I have a lot of dead ends! Also I am speculating on the ancestry that stretches so far back. Of course I hope it's true but who knows. Generally, for women I’ve listed them under their maiden name. If I cannot find their maiden name I list them under their married name.
I believe there is a lot of Gypsy in my blood, and possibly Native American, in my Mother's line so if anyone has any information to add please let me know.
