About Madewell/Stephens
This is the line for the children of Julia Mae Stephens from Jamestown, Fentress, TN. I am constantly adding to this tree so it is a work in progress. I don't claim to be a professional genealogist. I admit that a lot of my information is from hearsay or information I've found on the internet. I invite others to send me comments where I have wrong information. I recently added some information on my paternal side but I continue to work on my maternal line mostly because it's more exotic. I can't seem to link the Stephens immigrant to the Stephens in England so I know I have a lot of dead ends. Also I am speculating on the ancestry that stretches so far back. Of course I hope it's true but who knows. Generally, for women I’ve listed them under their maiden name. If I cannot find their maiden name I list them under their married name.
I believe there is a lot of Gypsy in my maternal line passed down by way of stories. I've found stories of Native American online but most are unproven.

The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
