About Makekau Family
I started this family genealogy after a late night conversation with my cousin Fern Kalehuamakanoe Prim Pule. It was all about family and how no matter what we are always there for each other and how I should think about coming home. We had many more late night conversations and as a result it started me on my search for my roots, with information that she provided it helped point me in the right direction. I progressed slowly from that point. I sent her the beginnings of my research on a CD and she was so excited, unfortunately she went home to our father in heaven before she could see what her dream had started “Where we all as a Ohana would know our roots and where we come from and be proud of the blood that flows in our veins.”

I have come to know a lot of family members on the same path as myself; cuz Leilani Oliver Chung is one that is the most instrumental in gathering and documenting information, without her this site would not be as extensive as it is. Cuz Kona Jugoz is another cuz that has help immensely -- to them and to a lot of others I am so blessed to be related to you all.

ALOHA - After cousin Marilyn Yamamoto's death in Aug. 2017, I have continued to keep up this site as was her wishes. I will continue to pay and update this site so that we may all know our ohana. Again, if you wish to update your line, please do so. It is with your help that makes this site what it is. Leilani Oliver Chung

The quest is not completed we still have a lot to go, If there are any family members that wishes to include their branch on the tree, please do not hesitate to request an invite, I would be blessed to add you.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
