About The McKenzie - Frazer Family of Roatan & Belize
Please sign in to see more. This site is dedicated in the loving memory of my wonderful mother - Joan Frazer McKenzie who was our family historian, she remembered events, birthdays and loved family more than anything. I miss you and love you! I hope you're pleased.....
This is the family tree for my family: McKenzie, Lucas, Cholette, Frazer and Barrow's. I hope to see this extended out and connected to others.
I have the unique opportunity to introduce my people to you it is one that I do not take lightly. I have sat here trying to find a balance between an angle that will engage you and content that is presented honestly while remaining true to my people.
Roatan, Belize, Cayman Islands, Grenada and Venuezula are the main ancestral land (with the mix from England & Switzerland).
Roatan was a colony of Britain and that entire area was called British Honduras (which is the former name of where I was born - Belize) ya da Fe we Belize (which means in my countries tongue loosely - I'm all for you Belize!
My father’s family our great crafters, seamen, landowners & business folk, using their hands to build their own beautiful homes by the oceans, and they used those oceans to feed their family some of the best seafood dishes known to man. My mother’s family used the ‘infringement’ of the Brits to get some of the best education in Belize, USA and London. My great grandfather who I had the privilege of knowing – was a beloved and fair chief justice. The current Prime Minister of Belize is my cousin Dean Barrow.
Entire towns and areas of Roatan, Honduras belong to ancestors of the McKenzie/Lucas family and still bare Their names. Gibson Bight is one example. The McKenzie's live and own/ed large sections of Roatan (French Harbor), particurly an area called 'The Point', it's also known as McKenzie Point.
And so today, my forefathers/mothers, I am honored to have introduced you to the family via this website. It is my hope that I have done so with the honor, respect and pride which you have passed on to me.
I'm proud to be a part of such wonderful, loving, proud people!!!
This is a work in progress.... every day I add additional information and pictures. If you know of any information that I'm missing or that's not correct please contact me. Pictures! Pictures! I need pictures!
I must give a special thanks to all the family members who helped me piece together our history but a special thanks to Uncle Martin McKenzie, Cousin Judy Chollette Howell and Cousin Reynold Chollet, Aunt Valerie Frazer Codd and Aunt Patricia Frazer London.
