About Perth County Pioneers
Please sign in to see more. When my gramma, Clara Caroline (Querengesser) Wicke died in the spring of 2009, she passed on her genealogy bug to me. She had created a family tree book for each of her ten grandchildren in 1979. I wanted to create a family tree for my children. So, I began to search for more information on my husband's and my ancestors and their families, their churches, and anything I could find out about them. One thing led to another, and now this tree has reached out into families that are not closely related, but were neighbours and friends of my ancestors. Together they carved out homes and farms in Perth County and beyond.
Unlike my husband, I have never had a great interest in history, but this genealogical journey has brought the history of Canada to life for me. I am amazed at how closely we are all related and am in awe of our Father who knows each of us intimately.
If you are interested, here is a link to my favourite "grave site". I have made memorials for many of the people found in this webpage and added photos of their headstones. Type in a surname and check it out!
