About Bristol-Williams Family History
Please sign in to see more. OUR ANCESTORS shared the events of their historical era. They were largely tradespeople, farmers, merchants, mariners and soldiers, and many ministers. A few intended their activities to be financial investments in a new place.
There are many of founders of towns in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Long Island N.Y, and New Jersey. There are two families who hid political refugees from the English authorities for a very long time. Soldiers were on the scene of historic military events during pre-Revolutionary, Revolutionary and Civil War times. Frankly, there were also some serious Indian fighters and some owners of slaves.
The database I have provided is like the Christmas tree when you first set it up in the house, bare, but something to "decorate" with pictures, stories, and more ancestors. I invite any interested modern descendants to collaborate to enlarge and enhance this site.
THIS PROJECT is based on the work of Minerva Bristol Forker. She worked on genealogy for several years, going here and there to gather information, and building on files, photos and papers left by earlier family members. I thank my nieces and nephews in Connecticut who helped me review and record Minerva's collection. Now I can offer our combined efforts to the family and perhaps, together, we can make them permanently available
This first version of the family tree is set up to include ancestors and children of Anson Wheeler and Sarah Williams Bristol.
