About  The Mettey/Dancy family
The Dancy-Tribe merger became the Mettey-Gillespie-Dancy-Tribe connection during WWII when
my mom, Marigold Jean Naomi Dancy of London, married my dad, Geo Russell Mettey of Xenia,
Ohio during the time my dad was stationed in England.

I want to thank everyone who is helping with this never ending project, in particular, Steve
Williams, Joan Mettey, Michele Jones, Penny Akers, Joe Mettey, John Dancy, Micke Dancy, John and
Mary Wray, and Graham Tribe. And,
I want to say how much I am enjoying meeting and chatting with my newfound relatives all over the
 world!

Other spellings I have found for Dancy are Dancey, Dance, Dancie, Dansey, Dansie, Danesi, Danzie, Danzey, Dauncey, Dauntsey, deAnesi, deDantesia, and deAnsey. Other spellings for Mettey are Metthez, Mettez, Mathez, Mettie, Mathey, Matthey, Mattay, Metay, Mettay,
 Matte,
LeMettay, Mete, Matty, Metay Ladouceur, and Mette. According to the House of Names, the first
immigrants to England of the Dancy family came over from Normandy in 1600, to Wiltshire,
originallyfrom Anizy, Calvados, Normandy. The name would have stood for D'Anizy.

According to what I found on WebRoot.ancestry.com other spellings for Gillespie (my grandmother's family) are Gallespie, Gellaspy, Gillasby, Gillaspie, Gillispie, Gillaspy, Glaspy,
 Glasby, Galaspey, and Galaspie.

If anyone has a desire to have their own personal information excluded, please contact me!

ADDITION: Please go to my tree on ancestry.com as it is more complete. I will delete this tree soon.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
