About SHEAFFER FAMILY GENEALOGY
Webmaster- Michael S Sheaffer

Welcome to Sheaffer Family Genealogy!

March 2019

So far this year I have added over 300 names to the tree with many photos having been added as
well. I expect to continue adding more names through March as I continue to combine by
Warren/Wagner/Maxwell Lines and my Knaub/Sollenberger lines.

February 2019

Age/Burial Update:
I have been slowly updating many of the ancestors names to include Burial/Cemetery information
and the persons Age at Death. I find it more informative for the researcher to see this right
up front. I try to have matching source records to confirm all dates and information so an easy
click on the records should confirm my information.

Knaub DNA Connection:
I have recently through DNA tests confirmed that my father (Michael Zlatar) biological father
was most likely James R Knaub. Several DNA connections through his direct line highly confirm
this and from this evidence I have decided to add the Knaub family tree onto this site. If
anyone doubts a Knaub relationship please feel free to contact me with any concern.

January 2019:

DNA Connections: in 2013 I took a Ancestry DNA test hoping to connect with other
Sheaffer's to verify that we were related. After 6 years i have gotten a lot more
than I would have imagined with the results. I have found a Sister, a
Grandfather, an adopted out 1st cousin, an adopted out 2nd-3rd cousin , and many more
cousins that I did/did not know. I have come to accept DNA genealogy as just
another tool for genealogists to use as a source now, and I have begun to format it
into this tree.

New Additions: I have made quite a few new additional lines to include not limited to
just my line but many collateral lines. Several notable lines include Wagner, Warren, Knaub,
Clouser with more to follow

Files: I have begun incorporating large
family files to the file location for
anyone interested
in
downloading. I expect to have more
available throughout the next several
months.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
