About Moore family History
Please sign in to see more.
Hello,

My name is Gary Dean Moore, son of Major Denver Moore, son of William Jefferson Moore the son of John Lemon Moore who is the son of ???? (I am especially looking for info on John Lemon Moore's parents).

Should this Family Tree recall old associations and awaken an interest in present and future family ties, the authors efforts will not have been entirely in vain. The genealogical data shown here, have been derived from various sources. Including history, vital statistics, Family Records and statements. Some may not agree, but it is hoped that the discrepancies, errors and omissions will not be too numerous. The author wishes to thank his many correspondents for their loyal aid in making this web site possible.

Although this web site is titled mooremorgan I am hoping to see it expand as far as we can go with information on extended families (we have 12 family lines so far). Future generations who wish to have a central location to find information on their ancestors will have a much easier time of it than we have had.

I invite all who have connections to the John Lemon Moore line to give as much info as they are able for me to post on the site. Letters, anecdotes, family trees and especially photos, and please give the complete names of individuals, ie. John Lemon Moore or Gary Dean Moore. The reason is that so many of our ancestors have the same first and last names, but the middle name may be different. Also, nicknames are hard to trace, for instance: up until two years ago I didn't realize the the man my dad called Uncle Will was not his uncle, but my grandfather (his father). Everyone in Grubbs called William Jefferson Moore 'Uncle Will'.

Everything sent to me will be scanned to the computer and then returned to the sender.

Thank You, and enjoy the web site.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
