Welcome to Kuvalaveli Nadadur family tree.
About Kuvalaveli Nadadur Family Tree
Thank you for visiting this site.

This family tree traces the descendants of Nadadur R Gopalaswamy Iyengar, who lived in Kuvalaveli (near Nidamangalam, TN, India). It is said that when Gopalaswamy Iyengar was away at the durbar of the then Maharaja of Mysore, the family shifted to Nidamangalam.

The first level descendants of NRGI was hand drawn by late N R Krishnaswamy during my visit to his house in June 2010. He also provided additional details of many descendants. In Jan 2014, NRK's wife's brother (Sridhar Sampath) introduced me to his cousin Indumathi Bhoodgur. Her meticulous work of tracing her ancestors to year 1800 and entering about 1700 names inspired me to start this site.

I have entered Called name or Given name as First name followed by Father's name or expanded Initial as Last name and where available, village / family name as Middle name. Alias is within brackets along with First name. For daughter, father's First name is maintained as Last name, post marriage also. And if the father's name is not known, I have left it as "Unknown".

Various spellings are Nadadoor, Nadadur, Nadadhur, Nadathur, Nadathoor.

Sri Nadathur Ammal (Sri Vathsya Varadaguru 1165-1275) was the grandson of Sri Nadathur Azhwan (1030-1130) and great-grandson of Sri Mahadayadeesar who established Nadathur Agraharam (village). Sri Nadathur Azhwan was the sixth generation descendant of Sri Natha Muni's (824-924) sister's son Melaiagath Azhwan (850-950). Sri Nadathur Azhwan's mother Kamalamba was the younger sister of the great Sri Vaishnava Acharya Sri Ramanujachariyar (1017-1137). Sri Ramanuja gave his “Sri Bhashya Simhasanam” to Sri Nadathur Azhwan who installed the archa moorthy of Sri Ramanujar at Sri Kanchi Varadaraja temple. The Nadathur Family Tree (genealogy) starts from Nadathur Azhwan as Generation 1 (Gen 1).
