About Nina's Family
Hi, My name is Nina Jean Hodge, I was born in Nolensville,Williamson Tennessee in 1938. I started this web site to record for my children, all my Mother's relatives, while I could still remember who they were. I started with the one's I knew and remembered well. My Maternal Great grandmother Florence (Polk)Hargrove. Most of my summers as a child were spent in West Tennessee with cousins, and I have wonderful memories of these times. Living in middle Tennessee, that was a long trip. Crossing the Tennessee River on a barge, as there was no bridge. My Paternal great grandmother Della (Garner) Hood
who lived to be 107 years young, lived next door to me. Granny Hood was so full of stories about the Indians, soldiers, slaves on their farm and the children of them, that were her friends. How they taught her children to make dolls out of corn cobs.etc.
As I started putting these people together, I got lost in time. This has been exciting and such pleasure. I spend a lot of time at the Library in Franklin, Williamson County,Tennessee. The Tennessee State Library, downtown Nashville.
Hopefully this will help my family to know where they came from, when they get old like me and need good memories. Mom used to tell me, happiness is memories. I have a lot of them.
