About Hennessey Family
Please sign in to see more. Welcome to my Family-Tree Website. This site is not exactly how I'd like everything to be presented, but at the moment, it is the most economical way of letting everyone see what I've been up to for the past 2 years.
So who is on this tree? Well you probably are, because I've kept it private and only an invitation with a password got you in. Since I am the 'focus' of the tree, Hennessey is the tree's title. All the other known branches on both my dad's Hennessey side and mum's O'Donoghue side are included. You don't have to read everything if one or more branches don't interest you. You can call up yourself in 'Family of ...' and look at everything to do with Ancestors and Descendants with you as the focus.
You should be able to make and print-out a range of different charts and trees. Unfortunately, the bigger picture of a whole tree cannot be viewed or printed here. I don't even have one myself anymore.
There are instructions how to navigate through the site. Take some time and have a look.
So what interesting things have I found out....
Well, there's a line of direct descent to the last King of Ireland for starters. Sorry but not all of you can claim this one as your own!
We have the First Prime Minister of New Zealand together with the Maori Royal Family in New Zealand. We have a whole line of Scottish and English Kings and Queens who sit precariously on the smallest of twigs, never mind a branch. If my 6th cousin who gave me the information didn't know that she was of direct descent from Mary Queen of Scots then it wouldn't be on here would it? There are quite a few branches I have left off mainly because once I get past 12th cousins I find it a bit boring. (lol). Despite believing that I had very few English ancestors, I went looking for a GX6 Grandfather and found him down the road in Hale Village. Another 'family' member (not on the tree) also found him and took exactly the same photo which he published in his Liverpool Echo column. A quick 'legal' letter had him and the Echo making a public apology and a donation to Marie Curie!
There are Skeletons aplenty when you dig deeper. Why did one family change its name every time the census man came along? Why did one set of my Grandparents never marry, yet have nearly a dozen children? Why am I questioning whether or not one side of my family should keep the family name or make a return to its 'real' name? Should I reveal the secrets of my DNA tests and spoil it for some of you having a drink of the family tipple? Is there anybody out there who really wouldn't be interested to learn that at least half of my family have a genetic makeup which is strongest in Transylvania? Has your Father been known to howl at the moon? Hi Dad!
All of these questions may or may not be answered here. Its a work in progress. Please leave a comment. Ask any questions you like. If you would like copies of anything please ask and I'll e-mail photos/info. Certificates etc directly to you.
Now... what can you do for me?
I would dearly love to have photos of as many people as possible on this tree. Only you can do this. Ideally I would like three photos. One as a child, one aged 20ish and for the more elderly of us, one in your 40s/50s. Let everyone see what a beautiful family we are!
