This tree has some very interesting ancestors. We have John Paddock born in Shropshire England, who spent some of his childhood years in a workhouse, then in later life immigrated to Australia in search of that yellow pay dirt in the Victorian goldfields. John married Annie Chapple, who was one of eight children that came to Australia with their parents, John Chapple and Annie. John Chapple was an Auctioneer & Surveyor from Exeter, England. He purchased the Bull and Mouth Hotel in Salisbury, SA. which he later sold, then took his family on a six week journey, by Bullock dray, overland to Bealiba Victoria where he too searched for gold. Also interesting is that the Chapple line goes back to Elizabeth Plantagenet the daughter of King Edward I. Then we have John Mills sent from England as a convict to Tasmania to serve a seven year sentence. When released he traveled to Melbourne where he started the first Brewery in Victoria. The fortune that he made was passed down to his only daughter Emma, whose daughter married Arthur M Boyd the very well known artist. The father of John Mills was Jobe Mills born 1771 who headed up the Wickkwar Gang of Gloucestershire, a story worth reading.
