About Parnell's of South Carolina
Please sign in to see more.
When I started this site I wrote that this website is dedicated to the ancestors and descendants of Charles Kesler (Kestler) Parnell and Theodosia Ann Almeata Moseley Parnell of Timmonsville, SC.

But there are many more ancestors.

In addition to Parnell’s and Moseley’s from SC, I’m also a descendant of Infinger’s (SC) and Etling’s (OH). I’m also researching my wife’s family; Corn (NC), Smith (VA), Kirk (MA) and Sweeney(MA). Of course, the further back you go the more Surnames you find. There are now over 2400 namesin this tree.

Our ancestors primarily immigrated from England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and Germany. Through DNA testing I’ve learned that I am approximately 95% European and my DNA is 32% Irish, 27% Scandinavian,19% British, and 8% from the Iberian Peninsula (Spain & Portugal). The other 14% is divided between Italy, Greece, Western Europe (France, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Netherlands), Finland, Russia,Middle East and Africa.

Kathie is 100 % European with 43% Irish, 26% British, 15% Scandinavian, and 8% Italian/Greek. The rest of her DNA comes from Finland/Northwest Russia, Western Europe, the Iberian Peninsula and European Jewish. These are just estimates but it’s interesting to see where we come from. I’ve alsomet, online or in person, several 3rd to 5th cousins through DNA .

I started gathering this information during the mid 1980's, have been seriously researching my family only the last few years. The information came from a number of sources, published and unpublished sources, government records, online databases, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws. There are bound to be mistakes. If you find one let me know.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
