About The Schulz Family
Please sign in to see more. Our immigrant ancestor, Johann Baptist Gabriel Schulz, left Hochstadt in the late 1840's. He left behind his father and his siblings, his aunts, uncles and cousins, knowing he would probably never see them again. He traveled 350 miles, probably on foot, to reach the harbor. Then he lived for about 6 weeks in steerage, the lowest level of the ship. He did this in the hope of providing a better life for his family. I admire his courage very much and dedicate this site to him.
Please note that I was able to locate Johann's family that is still living in Hochstadt, Germany. You will see a picture of Georg Schulz and his daughter Sabine Schulz Grossman on this site. They are very glad they found their family in America and send you their greetings.
