This is the genealogy of the 
 Barry/Cahill/Scanlan/Buckley/Cotter/Walsh 
 et al family, mainly from Cork city, 
 Cork county, Co. Meath, Co. Cavan and 
 Dublin, the United States, Canada  and New Zealand.

As it grows, it will include the families 
 and their in-laws.
                   
 The most famous person in the tree is 
 James V. Forrestal, co-author of Lend-
 Lease and the Marshall 
 Plan, assistant Secretary of the Navy and 
 Secretary of the Navy during the Second 
 World War and who 
 became the first Secretary of Defense, in 
 the Government of the United States in 
 1947. He was a 
 grand-nephew of John (the grey) Barry;

the man who voted against Papal 
 infallibility during the first Vatican 
 Council, Archbishop John 
 MacHale of Tuam;

the ancestors and descendants of Lady 
 Gregory, founder of the Abbey theatre, 
 i.e. Freddie White, 
 singer and songwriter.

Also here is David Gillick, the double 
 European indoor Champion at 400 metres.
 (2005,2007).

Mostly, the people in this family tree are 
 the men and women who work and play in 
 this world to keep 
 it, and themselves, ticking over.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list.
