The name Jhingoree/jhingory originated in Asia, some countries identified are India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. I am aware that names may have been changed during slavery and indentured servants era.

The names of our ancestors I hope are original and to this date, everyone with the name spelt Jhingoree, Ghingoree or Jhingory are related to each other, the reason being during the trafficking of indentured servants there were a lot of missing letters, pronunciation and spelling of names that made it difficult for people to keep to their original names and linkage to families.

I know one of the brothers, Great grandfather's was East Indian and he and his brother spoke fluent Hindi, they were brought to Guyana, South America as indentures servants. One brother got married to Alice Fawcette, our great-grandmother.

One of Alice parent was as African slaves, brought over to Guyana to work the on the plantations. Mr Jhingoree and Alice went on to have six children identified whose names are listed on the tree.

Mr Jhingoree’s Brother is not listed on the tree as there are no information at the moment and when this is established I will be making arrangements to make these additions.

I am aware that we have relatives alive and living in various parts in the world,I am also aware we have had some deaths but it has not been recorded on the tree.

I am doing as much as I can at this point and is still trying to gather more family information. I am hoping that other relatives will show interest in researching our ancestors, adding information as members are given the opportunity to add information and upload photos of their immediate families.

If there is anyone out there who is a Jhingoree or are related to this family, please make contact.

I know that there a number of Jhingorees' and some are spelt different (for unknown reasons) around the world, but not the amount I have been finding out about.

I have been fortunate to be contacted but I still need to reach out for more of the Jhingoree relatives, I think we will be one of the largest family tree in history.

Anyone with information of our ancestors or can access information, please forward it to me and I will be happy to add whatever you send

I am trying to contact families in Canada and I am aware there are some relatives living there, please get in contact.

There was also Cyril Jhingoree who died in Guyana while on holiday between 1992 and 2000, I know he has children in United Kingdom.

Some families may be using the surname Jhingoree,Jhingory or Downer, this also applies to other families in other countries. Please contact me.

Presently I am still adding my grandparents's tribe from my mother's side and also working on my father's family tree with my relatives on my father's side so that is a big chunk of work.

Please let me know if I have imformation wrong so I can make the necessary changes.

WISH ME LUCK

Thanks to all who have been adding information to our family tree. I have paid the subscription for the site since 2005 and am asking family members to volunteer and pay the yearly subscription from January 2019. Thanks.
Descendants of Jhingoree, Jason
