About Robin's Family Research
In my Genealogy journey over the past 20+ years, I have discovered so much, made so many connections, solved a mystery or two and found so many new family members.

I started doing Genealogy in 1995, when my Aunts started getting heavy into it. I got hooked right away and was searching for my mom's Bio-Logical father. I did eventually find him in 2013, but sadly he had passed away in 2002. He had changed his last name and that is why it was so difficult locating him. But, his two other daughters and I did find each other. It was a joy to find that my mom had two half sisters out there.

In 2013, my mom met her half sisters for the 1st time. They had no idea that the other existed. My Aunt (younger than me) had seen a post that I had made on Find-A-Grave and contacted me. There it was, the biggest accomplishment that I had made in my Genealogy quest. My mom was born in 1946 in Georgia, my aunts were born in 1969 and 1971 in California. It makes my brother and I older than our aunts. LOL...

In 2014, I found out that a girl I went to Junior High & High School (1976-1980) with, was my cousin. It completely blew our minds. She knew she had "Quick" relatives in her family, but as kids it never occurred to us that we were related.

In 2018, I started connecting dots on a family line of my mom's. Well, it just slapped me right in the face, that one of my best friends had the maiden name "Long", which was my 2nd G-GM's maiden name also. So, I looked at the family book her Uncle had made and there it was, the same Common Ancestor Richard Long & Mary "Polly" Brown. It turns out that my bestie's Dad, Uncles and Aunts and I are 5th cousins. We have known each other since 1994, when I hired her to work for me. All this time and it never dawned on me that we could be cousins. Mind blowing.

In, 2019, I was asked to help work on my bestie's (above story) Uncle Larry's (non-biological) Genealogy, he is a very good friend of the family and her mom's buddy. Well, again, it hit me right in the face, that he had some of the same names as I have in my tree. I started tracking it all down and sure enough, there it was. He and I are cousins, but the kicker is, he is also a cousin of my oldest grandson, through his Paternal side. So, that makes my grandson doubly connected to him.

So, my newest discovery to kick off 2021. It turns out that my Ex-husband (father of my children) is my 13th Cousin. Yes, so weird.. we share the same 12th Great-Grandfather John Trumbull. You just never know what you will find. I also discovered that my best friend/God Given sister Dana's (mentioned above) husband John Johnson is related to some of my Middlebrooks cousins. I have been delving deeper into his family tree and came across the 'Middlebrooks' name. Such a small world.

This site showcases the many journeys I’ve taken. I work on so many different family trees and I love every minute of it. Genealogy brings about so much discovery, not just in your ancestors, but also within yourself. I hope you find it interesting and that it sparks something inside you.

Family means that no one gets left behind.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
