Welcome to the Ravesi/Strangio Family Home Page at Tribalpages.com. I hope you enjoy this site.
The Ravesi and Strangio names from that lovely little island of Salina in Italy were closely connected through marriages and that is why I have decided to use both mum's and dad's family names for my Family Tree.
A number of our families enjoyed our first Australian Family Reunion in 2007 and it was so popular that we held another one in 2009 and 2015 in Canberra, Australia. In 2011, we held our Family Reunion in Salina, Italy and what a fantastic successful occasion it was. There were 40+ family members from Australia, America, and Italy, and it truly was the once in a lifetime event we promised it to be. We were planning our next Salina Family Reunion in 2021, but Covid 19 hit, so now we are planning for it to be held on 1-7 October 2024!
Under "Stories" (near the bottom of this page) you will find information on "Ravesi/Strangio Family Reunion - Salina 2011" as well the "Strangio Family Reunion of our American Cousins" held in 2012. Our American cousins also held other Reunions, the last one being held in July 2023 at Lake Tahoe. Some of us Aussie cousins have been fortunate enough to attend some of their Reunions.
You can now find us on Facebook page "Ravesi Strangio Family Group".
If you wish to know more on the Ravesi or Strangio Families:-
Vince Strangio from America has a wonderful Website with lots of history on the Strangio's. It is through his Website and mine that we made first contact with our 'Strangio' American cousins, some of which we met for the first time at our Reunion in Salina! Sadly Vince has now passed away. Bill Strangio, also from America, was another great contributor and I was fortunate to meet Bill, together with his brother Richard and cousin Kim, for the first time at our Salina Reunion in 2011. Bill also recently passed away and I miss the regular emails to each of these wonderful cousins every time we found new connections to exchange!
Beaty Davis (nee Cincotta) also has an excellent Website. Her mum was Nunziata Strangio (my mum's sister)! I have included Beaty's Website under 'Useful Links'.
And Christina Ongarello has more recently joined in with her Family Tree. Her mum is Beaty's sister Rosa! So I have included Christina's Website under 'Useful Links' too.
Always looking for more photos and names to add, so please send through any you would like me to include on the Website. I would be particularly interested in receiving more photos of our ancestors.
You may have found my Ravesi/Strangio Family Home Page on Geneology.com, but the Family Tree on that site will no longer be updated. The latest information is on this site only.
