Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.

I invite you to browse the family surnames that are of interest to you. The drop-down menus offer many selections to enhance your viewing of the family. You may select any name in the tree and generate family, ancestor, and/or descendant charts for viewing. When pictures are available for an individual, there will be an indication next to the name. You may also generate and download printable charts and reports for these family members. I invite you to use the relationship tool to find the relationship between any two names in the tree.

This is a living document, so that between visits you may find that information (names, relationships, etc.) has changed due to research discoveries. I suggest that you visit at least once each month to stay abreast of the changes to your area of interest.

I have tried to document my research as I go along. With some of the persons identified, I have included their obituary information (when available) as part of that individual's photo collection. The obituaries are a great source of family relationship and ancestral information and serves to validate census research. When available, I have included the interment location for the individual to complete the documentation. I have made notes on individuals, that display when you select the family view for that individual, in an attempt to document any assumptions I may have made in interpreting the research. Occasionally you will find persons named 'Unknown...' in the tree. These persons are in the tree to support some known family fact but the name of the person is not known. The documenting assumption should be found in the notes of the unknown person. The unknown person may already exist in the tree but the relationship is not known. An example of this is that we discover a person in the tree is grandparent of another person in the tree but we do not know which family member is the parent.

The definition of sources redesign and reconstruction, to better facilitate a better transfer of information between this and my research site, is complete. The hypertext link supporting a citation is now available in the family view of any individual with supporting citations. As before, those sources identified as existing on Ancestry.com will require a simultaneous logon to Ancestry.com to be viewed. Due to limitations in the software used the hypertext links are transferred as text and not hypertext links. Until this issue is resolved, you will still need to 'cut and paste' the hypertext links from the citation text into you browser to view them, rather than 'double click' the link. For those of you using Internet Explorer, you must 'cut and paste' each line of the hypertext link and concatenate them to produce the complete link. With software upgrades pending, this is only a temporary inconvenience; but when the upgrades are available is beyond the control of this site owner.

The static images of the census 'head of household' record, birth record, death record, and marriage record transcriptions and the the original census images will continue to be viewable at this site but will not be cited or have hypertext links to them. They may be viewed through a perusal of the individual's photo gallery where they are clearly identified. All individuals identified in the census 'members of household' will be linked to the 'head of household' transcription and original census image so that it is viewable from the photo gallery of each individual included. This provides you with household residence but not head of household relationship, occupation, birth, and other census information collected in the individuals census record. The individual's census record must be viewed through the Ancestry.com hypertext link.

In each census some collected information is unique to that census and not collected in any other censuses. For instance, the 1930 census collected the age at which an individual was first married and can be found in no other census data. The 1910 census made notations of whether of the marriage number of the current marriage and this data can be found in no other census. The 1900 census collected the birth month and year of an individual rather than just the age and the length of the current marriage. In some instances this information is transcribed into the database records and others not, but it can always be found in the original images. As mentioned earlier, penmanship can be a major issue with original images and well as fading due to age.

I have tried to improve the ease at which you may view source citations. For census transcriptions the the static transcription record image for the head of household and the original census occurrence page image been added to the photo gallery of each individual affected by a given source. So, when you browse the photo collection of an individual you will find the local source images interspersed with that individual's pictures by applicable year. Documentation images other than census images have been included as well. In most instances of the census transcription record images, the individual to which the document is attached is not the primary subject of the record image, but a member of the 'Household Members'. In those instances unique census details for that individual must be viewed from the corresponding original census page image. If you have problems matching the photo caption to a given citation for an individual, please contact me and I'll assist as much as possible.

Please contact me if you have any questions, or if you feel there are inaccuracies that you can help me correct, or if you have family information or photos you wish to share. We can determine the best method of communication to facilitate information sharing.

If you view the slide show, you may select to view only the Streeter photo album to avoid the documentation intermingled with the pictures.
