About The Rice Family Tree
Please sign in to see more.
The Rice Family Tree begins with Thomas Rice. Little is known about Thomas Rice except that he came from England to Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Ireland. He was born in the mid 1700's and died in the early 1800's. This is where the story of the Rices begins. Our Rices endured struggles, heartbreak, and hardships, during their travels from Ireland to America, but they overcame their obstacles and became well respected in their communities. The Rice Family Tree is dedicated to all the Rice relatives past and present, wherever they may be, and to the legacy that they have left behind. This website was created out of love for family, and the desire for knowledge of who we are and where we came from.
If you or anyone you know has information, stories, pictures, or anything else of interest, please contact me so I can place it on the website. We can scan letters or pictures in high resolution graphics and return the originals along with a copy of the high resolution picture. We can touch up any picture or document whether there are cracks, fading, etc. There are many stories and pictures out there that are just waiting to be shared.

"Red is the Rose"
    Lyrics
Come over the hills, my bonnie Irish lass
Come over the hills to your darling
You choose the rose, love, and I'll make the vow
And I'll be your true love forever.
Red is the rose that in yonder garden grows
Fair is the lily of the valley
Clear is the water that flows from the Boyne
But my love is fairer than any.
'Twas down by Killarney's green woods that we strayed
When the moon and the stars they were shining
The moon shone its rays on her locks of golden hair
And she swore she'd be my love forever.
Red is the rose that in yonder garden grows
Fair is the lily of the valley
Clear is the water that flows from the Boyne
But my love is fairer than any.
It is not for the loss of my own sister Kate
It is not for the loss of my mother
It is all for the loss of my bonnie blue-eyed lass
That I'm leaving my homeland forever
Red is the rose that in yonder garden grows
Fair is the lily of the valley
Clear is the water that flows from the Boyne
But my love is fairer than any.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
