Welcome to my Website of FAMILIES from many Countries and Places.

This website has been CREATED and is DEDICATED to honour all of my EARLY ancestors. All of those EARLY ancestors, that I have been able to trace, were originally born in England, Ireland [the southern part of Ireland now known as the - Republic of EIRE] or Scotland.

They either came as convicts by being transported for various crimes [between 1788 and 1825] and suffered punishments that were metered out to them under the HARSH LAWS that existed in those early times. To those later families who choose to come after 1840 as (free) immigrants, and to all those ancestors that choose to remain in the country of their ORIGIN.

From the time that European settlement was established in Australia on the shores of Sydney Cove as a 'PENAL COLONY' in January 1788 until it eventually became known as a great country, in its own right, at the time of FEDERATION in 1901 it was always a struggle for our early ancestors to survive in this harsh land.

The first of each of my early ancestral lines came from familes with the following names: MALE LINES: Thomas Cosier, William Fowler, John George Hearson, Alexander MacDonald (From Scotland), Thomas Meade (From Ireland), John Riley, John Scully, Thomas Terry (Turvy) and John Walbey (Warby), and the FEMALE LINES: Sarah Bentley, Margaret Bryan, Ann Crouch, Hannah Hearson {nee Seymour), Sarah Fussell (*Single Sister), and Ann Sidney/Sydney. Ann had previously been tried for a similar crime under the name of Sarah Barnes in 1796 and reoffended before her original sentence was comleted.

In October 2010 new additional familes names were discovered in both early setttlers and later FREE settlers as follows:
 1788-1830:
MALE LINES: John Edny(Edney), William Lomas,
FEMALE LINES: Mary Shearman(*Married Sister), Hannah Johns, Harriet Scott (From Ireland),
 After 1830: [Still researching]

These early settlers came as convicts to a harsh 'Penal Settlement' in a very hostile and formidable country. They all survived to have their children, and all their lines of descendants that came after them that still exist to this day. They helped to build this country of Australia that exists as we know it today.

However, they all seemed to prosper and benefit [especially the convicts] from the treatment and benefits that they received in this new country which was named by Matthew Flinders as "Australia" in the YEAR 1803.

Of course there were many later families that arrived in Australia after 1830 but most of these came as 'Free Settlers' with various types of passenger assistance schemes applying for their passage. The two main types of passenger assistance were "Bounty Emigrants or Assisted Passage" or "Unassisted Emigrants". The latter usually paid their own passage.

My Boots family migrated to NSW Australia in 1841 from Ewhurst in Sussex as 'Bounty Emigrants' (came free) and sailed from London England on 19 April 1841 in the ship 'Burhampooter' which arrived in Sydney NSW on 6 August 1841. The Agents for the 'Bounty Immigrants' on this ship were Walker & Co. They went to Narallen Vale to work off their 'Bounty', which amounted to 78.0.0. This amount was applied to James, Eliza and the 5 Luxford children (Miram who was under 1 year did not have any bounty appplied to her), which they did under a 3 year period.

Other emmigrants that arrived after 1830 who are OTHER LINES of my ancestors were: MALES: APPS, COUGHLAN, JACKSON, JOHNSON, LOMAS, LUXFORD, SCULLY, WAINWRIGHT. FEMALES: CATT.

As other names are researched and discovered they will by added to the various groups.
