About Hoggan Family Tree
Please sign in to see more. After a thirty year hiatus from the tree, I've been consumed the last few years and loving every moment. The one regret is not recording stories throughout the years from those now long gone. That, perhaps, is the reason for the focus at the moment. I want my sons to have some sense of their roots when it is their time to be interested. I wish my father had lived to share what I've learned; I can, however, envision the twinkle in his eye.
I've been overwhelmed by the generosity and zeal of amateur genealogists. It's been an extraordinary experience meeting those with common interests on all the continents save South America. Perhaps that's to come yet! Douglas, Donald, Les, Hamish, Elaine, and John of Scotland helped sort out many so many puzzles. David kindly shared his Eastons. Joan in Niagara Falls added her Welsh connection. Ron in Canada, and Cam and Arlene in the US shared their research, and hopefully, at some point, the different Hoggan lines may come together. Anne of Scotland has been generous with tombstone photographs.
Direct descendants of John and Catherine Hoggan: Diane in Victoria, Bernie and Pat in Hope, Judith in Everett, and Bev on Vancouver Island have helped fill in many cousins. The Snaddon side has brought me together with cousins Anne and Daniel in Texas, Mary, Dawn and Sally in Canada. Maureen in the UK, Sylvia in Ontario, and Thelma in Africa have been delights in helping to sort those Sneddons/ Snaddons and Muirheads. Elizabeth has added the New Zealand connection. Thanks to John, Pam and Kay for helping with the Dennisons. Billy for the Fifes. Karen has given the Alexanders. Deepest thanks to Bob in England for putting me onto Tribal. And lastly, to my friends, who have endured so many conversations that started with "You'll never guess what I found last night..........".
When you see an asterisk next to a name it indicates confirmation of the birth/baptismal dates through scotlandspeople, BC Archives, etc.
