My name is Loretta Walsh Phillips and I have been researching my family since the  1970's.  I was unaware of our 'royal roots' until I was contacted in 1990 by a person  wanting information on our family for a project she was working on.  She said we were  3rd cousins and that she was putting together a family history linking us back to  Charlemagne.  I was not so sure there was any real truth to this 'royal link', but I  gave her the information I had and began my own research.  I discovered that we were  in fact direct descendants of Charlemagne.  This website represents my own search and  I have cited as many sources as possible.  I am still not finished, but I doubt I ever  will be.
