About Sevland, Thompson, Nygaard, Holmstrom, DeBolt Family
The Sevland ancestry research goes back from Melvin S. Sevland b. 1913 in Douglas, North Dakota to the island of Karmoy, Norway by way of California, Washington, North Dakota, and Iowa. Lars Mandius Olesen Sevland was born in Akra, Karmoy, Rogaland, Norway, as was his wife (Mel's parents and my grandparents). The paternal family can be traced back ten generations to Gunnar Andersen who was born in 1639 in Vara, Karmoy, Rogaland, Norway. He was my eighth great grandfather.

Herbert Andrew Thompson (my maternal grandfather) was born in 1882 in Decorah, Winneshiek, Iowa. His father, Olean Kirkvold Thompson was born in 1854 in Madison, Wisconsin.Herb's grandfather, Thomas Kirkvold Olsen was born in 1823 in Jevne, Vang, Oppland, Norway. He arrived in the USA by 1854 for the birth of his first son, Olean and his wife, Thore arrived at about the same time. They both lived, raised their families and died in Winneshiek, Iowa.Thomas' father and mother and ancestors back to Ole Rugnos Rognaas, born in 1590 lived, raised their families and died in and around Vang, Valdres, Oppland, Norway. Ole is my 9th great grandfather.

Bob’s mother, Patricia Nygaard traced her family back to France through her great grandfather Calixte Boisvert (Greenwood) born 1856 in Quebec, Canada. The line stops at Joseph Boisvert. -Ronnie

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
