Ann Martin was the first of my convicts to come in the first fleet which was made up of 9 ships. The Lady Penrhyn was one of the 10 ships to carry convicts in the first fleet. Ann was on this ship of women convicts. The fleet left England on the 13 May 1787 to arrive at Botany Bay on the 19th of January 1788. The Lady Penrhyn was a hundred and three feet (thirty-one metres)long and a little over twenty-nine feet (nine metres)wide. After Ann there was 14 more convicts to come on the second and third fleets and so on. William Baker,Joseph Smith and Thomas Eather came on the Neptune in 1790. Elizabeth Lee, Margaret Holmes came on the Mary Ann in 1791 as did Mary Elizabeth Russell.Both these women are from the opposite side of the Family. Margaret Married Joseph Smith and is from my Fathers side and Mary Elizabeth married Edward Merrick who are from my Mothers side. Edward came on the Surprize in 1791. William Miller Alias John Williams came on the Able Marle in 1791. Mary Williams and Sarah Chapman came on the Nile in 1801.
Christian Sternbeck came on the Perseus in 1802.
Mary Raycroft came on the William Pitt in1806.
Daniel Brown came on the Guildford in 1811.
Mary Wilmot came on the Friends in 1811.
Richard Francis came on the Larkins in 1817.
Richard Norris came on the Minerva in 1799.
