SHARING OF INFORMATION is the cornerstone in building this 'important community based genealogical resource', not only for current users but also for future generations with FAMILY ROOTS at Upper Island Cove, Bishop's Cove & Bryant's Cove.

Welcome to the Upper Island Cove Family Roots website. My name is Randell Mercer, site
owner/administrator & a family tree member. My family roots are primarily associated with the
community of Upper Island Cove, located in the Conception Bay North area of the Province of
Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. In the process of researching my own family ancestry, I have
also compiled a considerable amount of information on many other family names that have resided at
Upper Island Cove, dating from its origin in the 1700s up to the 1950s and even beyond. These
include such surnames as Adams, Bishop, Clarke, Crane, Coombs, Drover, Greeley, Lynch, Lundrigan,
Newman, Sharpe and Young, as well as others.

I am willing to share any of this information.
When requesting an invitation to access the site, please include some information on your family
connections; enough information to link you to a family member(s) or an ancestor(s) whose name(s) is already recorded in the database of the website.

The minimum information that you must provide is your full name and date of birth, and the full name of a family member or ancestor who would have resided at Upper Island in 1945 or earlier. Please ensure that you provide a direct line (i.e. name & date of birth of your parent, your grandparent, your g-grandparent, etc.) connecting you to the named family member and/or ancestor. If you, yourself, resided at Upper Island Cove in 1945 or earlier, providing the full names & dates of birth of your parents should be sufficient.

Providing this information would enable me to determine if any of your family connections are available on the website. If your family connections are confirmed, I would like to update the website to reflect any new information that you would have provided, and, at that time, provide you with access as a active "member" of the website.

As a member, you will not only have access to view the information on the thousands of names recorded on this website, but you will also be able edit or add information pertaining to your immediate family (ie. parents, children, siblings and spouse). I welcome any information that would add to, verify or correct any details presented on this website.
