About Savransky Family
My name is Stella Berestetsky. This family tree project was started by my third cousin Richard Baum, who retrieved/provided most of the information about the descendants of Ber Savransky, born 1805.

Richard first contacted me in 2009. I did not know him at all. I did not even know about his existence. He mailed me (and everyone who asked for it) his mother's book called "Writings from Tarashcha, 1914 - 1937".
Richard created a photo album as a PDF file (please let me know if you would like to see it). It starts with a very impressive quote from the Talmud "ONE IS NOT TRULY DEAD UNTIL ONE'S NAME IS FORGOTTEN".

Richard also sent me a family tree, which was transferred to this website. I added the information about the Russian branches of the tree - my grandfather Moshko Savransky and his siblings - Chaim, Riva Gofman, Rochl Smolyansky and Hana Mogilevsky, as well as the relatives on my father's and my grandmother's side.

It was not easy, as people were spread around the world. Some were lost at war or just taken from us by time. I really had to dig for names, pictures and dates of our relatives. It took me months of work, but I have no regrets, as many forgotten and sometimes heroic names were retrieved and, therefore, resurrected and again, "ONE IS NOT TRULY DEAD UNTIL ONE'S NAME IS FORGOTTEN"

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Richard and everyone who provided the information and photographs for this tree.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
