About Kuppayandi Iyer Family
Please sign in to see more.
Kuppayandi Iyer aka Venkatarama Iyer was born after several still-born children to the parents.
After a vow and a solemn promise to abandon the next new born in the garbage and then take the
baby back (reflecting their humility and symbolizing that it will be a gift from God found in
the midst of a heap of garbage), this child was born and survived. The vow was fulfilled and
accordingly the baby was nick-named Kuppayandi, representing as one picked from garbage as a
gift from God. Not only did the baby survive against all odds but is now the head of a large
progeny consisting of over NINE HUNDRED members. It is a large TREE indeed to have 996 members
by May 2018 with the sixth generation growing strong. This Tree has contributed many
worthy men and women who have contributed to the society through a vast spectrum of professions
including teachers, professors, Administrators (Government and Private), scientists, Engineers,
doctors, chartered Accountants, Company Secretaries, Artists (music, writing, acting, painting
etc.) and not to overemphasize in the exploding Information Technology. Our women, not to be
behind their menfolk in their agility and drive, have been equally in the forefront. The Tree
members are spread over all the continents of the globe.

May this Tree grow more and more and spread the branches all over the globe like a Banyan Tree
and offer succour to the needy and carry the message of God for universal love and
understanding.
