About Parker - McDuffie Heritage
Please sign in to see more. Welcome family and guests,
I hope you enjoy using this site as much as I enjoyed making it. This site is dedicated to my brother Rickey and Uncle JT. It is because of them that I started my research into my family tree. I know that they would be amazed at how large it has grown. I have added names that are in the tree from various "branches". Some may be from marriages, while others are direct bloodlines. This has allowed the tree to continue to grow. This comes from my grandfather, Jesse McDuffie, who would always say "that when you marry into this family, you become family. You are not an in-law". He treated everyone as if they where his very own grandchildren.
Our research started with finding more information about our Grandpa Barnes. He was the last Confederate soldier in Robeson, Co. NC. He enlisted in the 18th NC, known as the "Robeson Rifles". The confusion begin with the poor records of the south at that time. We found 2 other William Henry Barnes' from Robeson Co. (they were father and son). After much research, we were able to find that our grandpa was listed as only Henry Barnes. I guess since there were already 2 others with the same name, it was easier to use his middle name. Since that time, I have continued to look for additional family members. I am glad to say that the list is now includes over 9000 names. The tree includes a variety of people from farmers & successful business owners to moonshiners. Even have someone who came to this great country on the Mayflower (John Alden). A connection to U.S. Presidents (Adams) and many people involved in the American Revolution, including Samuel Adams, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.
As you look at these people, place yourself in their time of life. Imagine what was happening in the world at that time in history. I am proud to say that along the way, I have also found a number of people that honorably serviced this great country. Some even paid the ultimate price. To them and their families, I am truly thankful.
The oldest current date I have is the year 937 for Ansfred I Rollosson in Tillieres, Normandy, France. This line continues back to Norway & Finland, stopping in the year 160 AD. I am still researching before adding all of the names. These older years are only based on research from
the internet, therefore, they get very hard to confirm. So keep this in mind as you see older dates past the 1600's.
This site is an ongoing project, with new info added weekly. Check back often for updates. Please be sure to sign the guest book before you leave the site. If you have any info or photos that you would like to see added, please let me know.
