INTRODUCTION by RONALD JOSEPH GARNER.
In 1992 I met Kevin Woods who talked to me of 'family trees', our origins and generally kindled my interest in 'where we came from'. Some years previously I made a half-hearted attempt to trace my mother's forbears, but after sifting through the parish church registers and only getting doubtful lineage, I gave up. However, seven days after our talk, Kevin supplied me with information of several generations of Garners with copies of birth certificates and marriage records - I was hooked!

I next introduced myself to Ron Banks, the Thrussington historian who proved to be a real mine of information giving me generations of Garners back to William and Eleanor, not only that, but he supplied me with information and photographs of their house which is still in use today.

I often wish my forbears had kept records of our family tree, it would have saved a lot of trouble! A little information here and some from somewhere else and we are as you see us today in this version of our family tree. I am sure relatives, friends and others will enjoy it.

Ronald Joseph Garner 1927-2002.

There are numerous people, too many to mention individually, who have contributed to the information contained in the Garner Family Tree. A sincere and heartfelt thank you to you all. However, a special thank you goes to my wife's late father, Howard Charles Koverman Jnr, who kindly provided information on his family history.

If you would like to access this website, please contact me using the link at the top of this page, under the security tag, requesting the password and a few details as to any possible family connections. I hope that you may find information to aid you in your research and, with your permission, provide information that I may add to my family tree. I look forward to hearing from you.

Tim Garner.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.

Thank you for your interest in my family history. Please add your thoughts and comments to the guestbook.
