About Frayling/Stapleton/de Beaumont Families (From Cattle to Crowns ) & VIKING ANCESTORS see footnote
My Paternal Grandmother was a STAPLETON her side of my family (OVER 2000 YEARS AGO) were VIKINGS originally from the SCANDINAVIAN/NORDIC Country’s of NORWAY, DENMARK, SWEDEN and FINLAND.

Starting with FORNJOT he was the first VIKING KING of FINLAND 150ad-260ad My 43rd Great Great Grandfather.

The VIKINGS became NORMANS (meaning MEN from the NORTH) after being given substantial land in Northern France in 911 when a treaty was signed by French King Charles 111 and Rollo the Viking (my 31st Great Great Grandfather) to enable peace between the French and the Vikings.

LATER MANY OF THE STAPLETON MEN BECAME CRUSADER’S (KNIGHTS OF THE GARTER) WARRIORS FIGHTING IN BATTLES FOR THE BRITISH CROWN.
——————————————————————————————————————————
FIRSTLY IT IS TO BE REMEMBERED THAT FAMILY TREES IN DAY'S GONE BY, PEOPLE DID NOT HAVE SURNAMES, BUT INSTEAD THEIR LAST NAME WAS FROM THE TOWN or VILLAGE THAT THEY CAME FROM OR WHAT THEIR OCCUPATION WAS. IE:- FRANKS = AXE THROWING (MILITARY RULERS).

On our (Protestant Side) My 14th Great Great Grandfather JOHANNES FRAYLING (WE ONLY GUESS) was a (PROTESTANT) Huguenot refugee from Catholic France fleeing religious persecution, he arrived in Wiltshire, England in the 1400’s from Holland?

On our (Catholic Side) My 26th Great Great Grandfather GALFRIDUS STAPLETON was a French Norman arriving in Yorkshire, England around 980..

THAT IS WHY IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE YOUR ANCESTOR'S NAMES ARE FROM THE SAME FAMILY.
see below.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------—-
Early Spellings for Stapleton have:- “de” in front.

The Earliest Recording of Stapletone was in the Doomsday Book in 1086.

Other spelling's are:- Stapletone, Stapletun, Stapletone, Staplton,

They were from English Counties of :- Cumberland, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Leicestershire, Shropshire, Somerset and mostly Yorkshire as well as Ireland and Scotland.

The Irish Branch of the Stapleton's were from Normandy who entered the country with the Army of King Henry 11 of England in 1170, and later gaelicized their name to Mac an Ghaill meaning son of a foreigner. (also known as Henry Plantagenet & Henry Curtmantel he was born in France.

de BRIENNE & de BEAUMONT WERE TOWNS in FRANCE.

(de FRANKS FROM THE THIRD CENTURY) THEY WERE FROM GERMANY, BELGIUM and THE NETHERLANDS.

'Van' means FROM the HOUSE of in Dutch. The German word HAUSEN on the end of a name means house/live/reside or dwell.
In GERMAN, VON means FROM at the start of name. 'de' means' from in French. BEN in Hebrew means son of and

The OLDEST DIRECT FAMILY MEMBER on my GRANDMOTHER'S side was Galfridus de Stapylton from Normandy b 954, who was my 26th Great Great Grandfather. He came to Britain before the Battle of Hastings the Norman Invasion of 1066 and changed his name from de Beaumont. (i.e:- From one town's name to an other).

The Stapleton Motto's were:- "Mieux Sera" / Better times are coming / "Ne vile fano" / Disgrace not the Altar.

The Irish Stapleton's were descended from Heryon de Stapleton b 1025, Their GAELIC NAME was Mac An Ghaill Dhuibh (translation is Mac the Black Gaul or Son of a foreigner) Their War Cry was:- "Fide sed cui vide" / Trust, but in whom take care. Their Motto was" Mieux Je Serai" / Better I will be.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------——-

THE OLDEST FRAYLING FAMILY MEMBER was my 14th Great Great Grandfather Johannes Frayling (Fraylyng) 1496 -1538 may be from Holland???? Died in Wiltshire, England. The family we think were either Walloons or Huguenot's from France, Holland and Belgium. They were chased out of their homes by the Roman Catholic's during the persecution of Protestants. The Frayling name is spelt in many different ways depending what country they came from. FRAYLINS, FRAWLINS, FRAYLIN, FRALING, FRAILLING, FRIJLING, FREYLINGHAUSEN, FREELING, FRELAN, FREILINGE, VRIJLING, to name but a few.

The Frayling's were mostly Cattle Dealers and Butchers untill my Grandfather, Rev Edwin John Frayling became an Anglican Vicar and in 1891 married a Roman Catholic girl Georgiana Maria Stapleton, which was very uncommon in those days to have mixed religion marriages. It is from her side that our Blue Blood and all the Crowns & Titles came from.

The Frayling Motto is French. Avant toute la verite (Before all the Truth).
